Little bit of correction

Post by Twenny »

Image
Bought a mini rotary polisher, a Das 6 pro DA polisher and a detailing light.

Gave the gloss back sections a much needed correction with the mini polisher. Not perfect but I won’t push my luck Image

Yeah, that gloss black plastic is pretty soft isn't it. I'm almost scared to wash it.

Great job, good as new.

Any way to proactively look after it, or protect after correction?

You can apply a wax/sealant or coating to this surface no problem. The best way of keeping it defect free though is good washing technique, avoid hand car washes and most of all, don't touch the surface with your hands, as in don't push against it to close the door !! Use the door handle !! My missis is a star for this  You might not think it but every time you touch a painted surface, unless its 100% dust/contaminate free, you create micro scratches/marring that build up over time. That's the swirling or spider webbing you can see on the surface.

Noice. Nowhere near brave enough to buy one of those lights, I'd rather live happily ever after in ignorance

Hi Twenny

Are the backplate / heads easy to get on and off - is it one where you have to use a spanner to undo? I was looking at the DAS 6 last night as I fancy one myself. Online the machine only is around 110. I would like to go for some decent pads, Hexlogic style ideally. The Amazon polishers like SPTA etc seem to come with cheapo pads which I am not sure about.

Hey Diz,

Yes the pads and different length heads are easy to get off for the mini polisher. The das 6 only has one head as far as I know.

And yes I’ll be ordering some hexlogic pads myself too.
