They'll be quite stanced at the back, but won't rub. Standard front offset means the steering won't be corrupted (stock scrub radius, etc).

Thanks for the reply, would you recommend a particular offset for those widths? I'd like to get it looking as flush as possible without compromising the car but also leave some room for Eibach springs.

Assuming you’re running standard length wishbones, if you want flush I’d usually recommend roughly

8” ET35+ front
9” ET45 rear (as that allows a 255/35/18 to fit later on, which you don’t want, so ET40 would be fine)

You could fit the OZ you selected, and add a 10mm wheel spacer to the front if you wanted more stance? Or simply buy 8” ET35 fronts if available?

Thanks again Marco, I'll have a look into wether or not I can get those offsets. Nice to know that you can fit the 255 later on, I'm just putting it off for now as my tyres have only done about 1000 miles.

So have read through this thread - not sure if im even more confused than I was to start with - or just now got so many options in my head. So will say thanks Marco in advance as you appear to be the main man when it comes to wheels/tyres.

Current setup on my black M140i:
Motech eibach springs
12mm spacers
Bilstein B12 dampers ( kept the eibach motech springs on rather than the new ones from the kit)
M4 LCA
Powerflex front/rear sub bushes
LSD ( just as you often mention it )
running Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports in standard sizes.

So im looking for some new wheels to order this week ( if in stock ) that will fit .... as from the threads ive seen lots of comments about the LCAs causing a bit of a problem etc. Wheel choices at the moment are down to a few - but changes on an hourly basis... but

Oz Ultraleggera
Bola ( like various FLB/FLR )
Japan Racing SL01

But really struggling to decide on the best all round option size, offset, new tyre setup... the original 719M wheels have been used now for winter tyres.

If you only want to run standard tyre sizes, fitments are plentiful.

Something like a square 8” ET38 - 40 setup would be good (with spacers removed).

Hi Marco, sorry my bad... no I'm looking at fitting some larger tyres preferably... as its Stage 2 as well... so ive been improving all the handling side of things - now preferably some lightweight wheels and more GRIP... hence my confusion over the sizes, offset etc... seems to be lots going for

235/35/18
255/35/18

but I was worried about the LCAs etc.

For a wider / staggered fitment, it's hard to beat 8" ET42 fronts, and 8.5"/9" ET44ish rears (fitted with 245/35/18 and 255/35/18 respectively).

I'd avoid 235's. 235/35 are a bit small on diameter, and 235/40 are a bit big.

And would/should those be ok with my current M4 LCAs etc... presuming spacers will obviously come off the car too.

Correct, bin the nasty spacers.

8” ET42 fronts should be LCA safe.

Hello,
I've recently bought 2014 116d F20 M sport. I'm looking for 18” rims but my options all have et45. My question is will I have problems with 8” ET45 on all wheels and standard tyres (front 225/40, back 245/35) because most suggestion here were to buy 8” ET40 ?

8" ET45 is fine, an OEM type fit.

Hi Marco... if I had to go 8.5 on the front would that cause a problem with the LCA....

Makes things trickier, as you need more damper clearance. You could try ET41, but it's going to be super-tight to both damper and arch.
