I think 235 width tyres would also be a better fit on an 8j wheel. I run 235/40 on mine.

pdc 5x120 8x18 et40's super leggerias with 245 35 18 all round with zero rubbing errors. about 10mm of space on the front and about 5mm will be used up by the rim protector on the tyres. more space on the back but not by much. haven't heard a rubbing noise since fitting.

ET36 should be fine with 225’s fitted.

Anyone have RPF1 or PF01 on their F20?

The PF01 has 18x8 +42 and +35
The RPF1 has only 18x8.5 +40

@Marco - Searching for both wheels results in no actual photos from anyone here. Even Google doesn't have this combo!
To save you some time - 245/35 is best for both 8J and 8.5J at these offsets right?

Yup, 245/35 square would be my prefered setup. ET40-ET42 would be ideal, 35 can look a rather pokey on the back, imo.

Hey Marco, so I just rang up WheelPower and spoke to Mark.

He's a bit concerned with the Eagle F1 SS in 245/35/18 in the front. Suspects it wont fit, even for a stock adaptive suspension - something about no adjustability on my F20.
Any thoughts on running a 225/40 on the front to ensure clearance?

If you're running 245/35/18 on the back, you can have a trial fit on the front quickly and easily? Or, have a pair of 3mm spacers handy?

You could stretch a 225/40 on, but you'll have very little rim protection, so mind those kerbs.

Hi, i have a set of JR23s that came off my old e46 and i wonder if its safe to try them on my F21 m135i. I dont want them to cause damage going over a speed bump or something :D
They are 19x8.5 ET35 with 225/35/19's all around.

Thanks in advance.

P.S also would i be able to go 245/30s in the rear ?

Yup, currently on OEM everything, including cracking MPSS haha
I'm getting more set on the RPF1s 18x8.5 +40!

So played with the willtheyfit calcualtor and it looks to be fine per your M-LITE sticky post, although Marco - the Poke is pretty close to 18mm and I hear that the Goodyear F1 Eagle SS are a very square tire?

Fronts
7.7mm closer to the strut
17.7mm more poke
What is this melty feeling you describe by staying with 225/40 on a wider wheel?

Rears
5.7mm further away from the strut sounds like no issues
18.4mm more poke
Will stepping up to 255/35 be any benefit with a +0.5" width?

18mm poke is fine, but they might be slightly close to the front struts, hence the possible need for a 3mm front spacer.

225's are too narrow, wimpy little tyres that melt when you apply the brakes in anger. 245mm will take more energy before they turn to goo.

255/35 would fit better around ET45, ET40 would be close to rubbing.

How about 235/40 square? Technically it should fit 18x8.5 et40 and this is the newest size available on the PS4S.

I'd gain some beef on the front but would there be any noticeable loss going from 245 --> 235 in the rear?
