will they fit? with a twist

Post by kos » Wed Apr 11, 2018 3:14 pm

the general consensus is that larger is better when it comes to wheels but after looking at some american muscle running on 15'' wheels and beefy tyres, I came to wonder whether something like that would work on my 2008 e87.

more specifically I found online older BMW wheels 7j r15 ET20 5x120, with 225/60/15 tyres. do these work on the 1 series? does the speedometer need to be adjusted for this?

pls help, I coudn't find anything related as all compatibility sites list only 16'' and above for e87

Smaller is usually better when it comes to wheels, the smallest that will fit over your brakes basically. 19" wheels are purely for show, they really hurt a car's performance.

Which engine (ie, which brakes) do you have? :? 16" is usually the minimum, but some cars need 17'" (123d/130i/etc).

I have the 1.6 petrol engine and my front brake rotor is 284 mm while the rear rotor is 280 mm. So 16 inch is as low as it can go?

16" Alloy in reality.

You might squeak a 15" steel wheel on maybe? Try before you buy!
