VMR 710 19s on E82 - has anyone managed it?

Post by baderlfc » Wed Aug 01, 2018 7:48 am

Using willtheyfit.com, I think it's going to be close but should fit.. the thing i'm not sure about and will have to check is my current clearance between wheel and strut.

19x8.5 ET45 up front with 225/35/19 tyres
19x9.5 ET50 at the back with 245/30/19 tyres

From standard 18"s rims to the 19s gives 16.7mm more poke on the front, 8.7mm nearer to the strut.

on the back: 14.7mm more poke, 10.7mm closer to strut.

Thoughts please?

If it's just a matter of arch rolling i'm happy with that.. wish they did 8J and 9J wheels, would be so much easier

bader,
Twenny and a few of the other guys have the same VMR’s in 18” and they are very tight to the strut up front...
If I can find his picture I’ll post it but there’s about 3mm clearance iirc.
Shouldn’t need arch rolling with 245 rear tyres but may need a light roll if you go up to 255’s

As Bish has said, it’s tight. I have the M3 LCA’s fitted on 18’s so it may not be as bad with standard LCA’s but mine is tighter than two coats of paint lol

The newer VMR’s 8.5J fronts I believe have now been adjusted and are now ET43 - clears the strut but 2mm further out is just about ok.

Also have a read here (some might be same thread different pages lol) - viewtopic.php?t=63068&start=15

CA International have come back to me this morning with offset options and they are still telling me it's ET45, ET43 obviously would be a bit better but that's tight... has the small gap between wheel and strut caused you any issue? I also have M3 LCA's and Birds suspension (Bilstein dampers).

I'll have a read through them threads, I would be using 245's on the back.. it's just a lot of money to have fitment problems!

Matching tyre choices in them sizes, few and far between:

Falken FK453 - £396
Nankang NS2 - £306
Kumho PS71 - £374
Michelin PS4S - £648

Prices for set of 4 from camskill

My advice? Go 18’s. Cheaper all round.

They just look too big in the arches for the coupes.
