'West Yorkshire Tuning' - Bradford

Post by chris25c » Sat Jul 13, 2019 11:34 pm

My mate took his A3 to these guys and got some impressive results.

I just wondered if anyone else has had experience of them? Their facebook page shows an e82 125i being mapped from stock to around a 60bhp increase which is what I was after. I know a lot in Leeds use RS Tuning, but these guys seem reasonably priced.

Yeah I get that but I'm not sure I want to sink £500 into mapping an 8yr old car. Just wanting to open it up a bit more.

Had my 116i F21 remapped there and West Yorkshire Tuning were excellent, I’d definitely recommend going there Image

Corrected figures only = fudge factors galore.

I’d want to see DD shootout before/after @ wheels on my own car, preferably 3rd party, and exercise my money back guarantee if I’m not happy.

I’d go to someone with specific provable results and positive feedback with that engine.

Or even someone good who is mobile who is an agent for a good tuner.

I’m not sure how complex the remap on these is, it could just be some single 3D map to open the throttle more.
But it could be more in depth.

I can almost guarantee that a tuner who does ‘every car’ will buy their maps in, and won’t know what is normal/not normal with a specific car before/after remapping.

My best advice is find a specialist on this engine.

The dyno they use to test your car on is a dimtech dyno and I was uk dealer for them but I refused to sell there dynos as they over read on tunes cars

Took the punt based on feedback from around the web. I wasn't chasing numbers so not overly fussed what the final output was. Seemed a decent guy and I'm happy with the result, car is way more responsive and the extra torque is very noticeable with the car just pulling in every gear. Not sure what happened on the stock test, as this is supposed to be 220bhp  it's only done 12k and has had 2 major services in its life so not sure why the power is down.

Anyway, Dyno print below:
