Nozzle Change for Diesels - Increased Performance

Over in the TDI club forums the first thing they do when looking to increase performance and mpg is simply replace the injector nozzles.


Anyone done this before ?

What you are looking at there is the procedure for changing nozzles on pre-PD VAG engines. (The PD engines they then progressed to were then replaced by common rail engines.) Those Pre-PD engines run a traditional distributor pump, and the injectors are not electronic whatsoever.

This kind of tech has never been used even in the oldest 1 series (they were always common rail), so any info you find for this type of setup isn't really applicable.

After about 100K the injector on a diesel car will be out spec, best getting them changed...
