moving from cobb to mhd

Post by bentaylor » Wed Feb 14, 2018 11:27 am

Hi all,

Iam trying to move from Cobb to MHD but accesstuner is no longer available from COBB without paying $150 for a tuning course first.

Anyone have accesstuner and fancy copying my map into tunerpro or converting to MHD?

Thanks!

You cant convert the tune easily as MHD uses many different parameters to Cobb, your better off starting a fresh with MHD if thats what you choose to use, personally i always found the cobb a good safe setup (shame about accesstuner as i found out when i bought my last one) so why change ? or are you wanting to push things further ?

Yeah I am hopefully pushing things further in the future and the guy I'd use for the mapping is looking to go down the MHD route.

I love the accessport in the car as a gauge cluster but mhd maps have more potential, imo, than COBB :)

Yes there is certainly more scope with MHD when tuning further, im still a bit wary of them but they are coming on leaps and bounds it seems and at end of day if mapper is happy to use them give it a go :)

my current map is already flashed to the car so I assume there is no danger in selling the COBB on now - once I've tested the MHD cables lol

No you cant sell the cobb (as useable anyhows) until you remove it from your car, as in uninstall software and revert the map back to stock, the Accessport can only be used to flash maps onto 1 car so if you dont uninstall it the buyer wont be able to flash with it so not much use.

Oh..

I thought the cobb could be removed from the car and factory reset to be able to be used on another car, is part of that process reverting back to stock map? Sucks if so and will just have to stay until mhd remap then

Yes you have to remove all cobb software/maps from car to enable accessport to be reset and used on another car, stops people buying 1 accessport and flashing dozens and dozens of cars with it :)

as annoying as that is - it makes sense.

People stateside have managed to copy from accesstuner to tuner pro and then to MHD, takes a bit of work but seems possible with all the software available.

My map is by Litchfield (previous owner) and I cant imagine they would be very helpful in transferring it
