2011 F 116i remap

Post by jeffers1956 » Sat May 26, 2018 6:19 pm

Hi Guys,

HCan anyone that has had their 116i motor remapped advise on how it is running after the map was it a good idea / map was it worth it, has it paid the dividends, are you glad or sad because of it. And did you declare it to the insurance as mine will not insure you once they know or may finish this year then price you out so I am led to believe. (Direct Line).

Cheers.

Hi Guys,

Well I find it hard to believe no one came through with a reply so here is a reply of my own the car is a totally different beast now the acceleration is so unbelievable it doesn`t shove you back in your seat but all of a sudden your flying its a gradual but fast acceleration. There is no acceleration lag through the auto box now but instant response the MPG looks at present to have improved as I flogged it all afternoon and the gauge it doesn't look to have moved much at all and before it would have plummeted. I have not tried the sports mode yet as the normal drive is rapido.

Cheers from me and
Thanks for my review
If I were you I would get it done dont wait on a reply from here otherwise they will probably be obsolete by then.

Maybe more responses would have been forthcoming in the F20 section. What's the claimed bhp/nm?

Hi AP118I

I did not ask and its not been on a rolling road my main concern was MPG as it only a 1.6 but was quite a guzzler and I was only getting 25 MPG ish town driving but even tho I have not checked that yet I know it is much better as I was only getting around 160 miles to a tank now I am on 190 and still around a quarter of a tank left.

So the main reason has paid off by the looks of things I believe the 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 are all the same engine but with different BMW set ups so you just map to your liking.

Cheers.

118i has a slightly better exhaust (more freely flowing), but it doesn't make a huge difference.

Hi,

I would not go past what Jason at chiptune states 180 - 200 BHP he did not do mine as I live in Lancashire. Lancashire remapping did mine and mine has not been dyno tested (my decision) :band: but it is pretty impressive. I used to have an E46 2.5 i 3 series which was also very impressive and my little old 1 er would have give it a run for the money.

Cheers.
