MHD Users - Your Preferences

Post by Neil-D » Wed Aug 15, 2018 6:32 pm

Hi all,

I’ve recently downloaded the MHD App on Android and loaded up a Stage 1 map for my EWG M135i. Instant difference from stock - other than running an MPE and so far very pleased with the gains. Their latest info suggests 379bhp with just a map using 95 Ron.

I’m just curious what others users think of MHD and where your settings are. For those that don’t know, the App is on Android and you pay for Maps through Google Play. It connects to the car through the OBD2 and you can make some adjustments to the car like remove the increased noise on cold start as well as adjust exhaust ‘burble’ if you want it ranging from minimal to loud and aggressive. You can also buy various other maps if your car is modified with sport cats, de catted etc or if you go down this route at a later stage.

I have the Stage 1 map as my car only has an MP exhaust with the exhaust burble switched on with the following settings

Duration Base (I think this means I’m comfort mode) - 0 seconds

Duration Sport - 1.5 seconds

Aggressiveness - Medium

Cold start noise reduction and Vmax speed limiter removed.

Just curious of your settings and thoughts 👍

Stage 2+ 102 octane

Base burble - 3 seconds aggressive

Sport burble - none

Cold start delete active

Vmax removal active

I find the burbles annoying to be honest and I only ever drive the car in sport or sport + so made comfort my asbo map for when mates need heart palpitations.

I thought burble was not recommended unless you have cat delete/sport cat? I was under the impression that dumping fuel into exhaust would melt the stock cat filter.

I am considering MHD, can anyone recommend a cheap compatible android device with otg capability, also does the software recalibrate the idrive gauges?

read about the MHD burble problems..lots of issues with leaking valves , increased oil consumption and cat failure.

Any android phone with version 3.2 and above will do.I flashed MHD using a Moto G4 plus which is hardly high end.

Thank you,, will look around for one, have you had any issues with MHD, has it worked well?

If you're near south West London you are welcome to borrow my android tablet to flash MHD.

Thanks I’m down in Bournemouth, did you use the beemergeeks cable, only all the ones on amazon say upto 2008 models, Argos are selling an Lenovo tablet for about £50, I might as well purchase one of those, thank you very much for the offer though 👍

These are the cables I bought and have had no issues. Also bought a cheap android tablet for just over £30 in order o download the MHD F series App on Google Play.

I’m not surprised the Americans have had issues with oil etc if you see the way they abuse their cars.

I’ve had no problems with MHD at all.

I only went stage 1 as my car is otherwise standard and yes, significant upgrade in power and very pleased. Insurance only went up £16 too 👌🏻

I also liked the idea of MHD as they release updates to their software and once you’ve bought a map from them the updates are free. That plus you can turn off the loud star when cold and some other settings.
Other companies may offer this but I’m not sure.
