Oh I noticed a distinct catalytic converter smell with it on. Haven't had it before.

Am I right in thinking the JB+ is just a boost controller and the JB4 also alters timing, fuelling etc and has the OBD-2 interface?

I have just ordered one for the simplicity of fitting and the gains that are more than enough for me.
My biggest worry has all ways been warranty issues and the dealers finding you have tampered with the engine setup.
When it goes in for it's servicing I doubt they will check to see if you have messed around with anything unless there is a problem. You can take it off so there is no visible evidence and if there is a problem you can go and get it reset at an independent bmw specialist ,or a garage with the right equipment to reset the ecu to standard and wipe any faults it might throw up.
You can use Carly or the like to erase any evidence but I'm not sure if thats 100%.
The likelihood is you will not have any engine problems but with this it will only take a couple of minutes to take off.

Just another wee update and want to say as the days go by I'm enjoying this more and more! Dropped the oil from the car and fitted a new genuine filter with some fresh Fuchs 0w20 oil. Probably did 40-45 miles today and the performance is amazing! It pulls hard and just feels insane in the final 1000rpm. It's very smooth power delivery aswell you would think it was tuned this way from factory. Very impressive. And been scanning with carly with no faults or errors recorded.

I've had mine on for two weeks, it's going back into the dealers on Tuesday for some minor work on the rear hatch so I removed it today and have to say, it now feels really slow by comparison :-)

Same here, they've tired fitting some tape to the strike pad although this doesn't work for to long so think they're fitting a new latch now, now sure. Hopefully that will work although wasn't too bad a rattle and only happens a few times a day.

Are you still running jb+? If so, is your car running fine or are there issues? Image

I've had mine on max for around 2500 miles now, no issues to report except with traction. MPG is the same, no oil use, no funny noises
