Great Stuff!

The pics i've seen of the purple (in a Smart) looked excellent - just a small hint of purple and seems like excellent light output!

looking forward to all of your feedback - As it happens BabyBMW was the forum that happened to get the most samples, so expecting some good things! :)

Here is my conclusion from receiving the box and fitting. This is my own personal view :) so others might differ.

So the box. Colourful, detailed and stands out compared to your average pack of bulbs. One downside to this box, as with my Diamond vision bulbs. If one bulb becomes lose during postage, it bounces around inside hitting the other bulb and rubbing the colour off. So philips could do with improving the clips that hold these bulbs in. Obviously vacuum packed bulbs can't do this.

Now fitting, these don't look far off my blue vision bulbs, so i would be very interested to compare these to the blue colour vision bulbs. To mix this test up, the bulbs went into a set of depos (this is where it goes down hill I'm afraid) Because the headlights are projector style, any colour in the bulbs is white washed as soon as the light hits the lens. So all you end up with is basically a white lens. So i decided to put these in the high beam.

Diamond vision (left) Colour vision purple (right)

While you can see a hint of purple (and i mean a slight hint), my friends didn't even notice until i told them what i had done. So no points there I'm afraid.

So in conclusion, philips have got the right idea (obviously they can't go mad with the colour as it will be a MOT failure), but i can't help but feel people will expect the vivid colour on the box to be in their headlights. instead of a light tint. I can't fault the light output and it is the same quality that you would expect from philips. However, my diamond vision bulbs cost £20 from the shop, so an extra £15 for a hint of colour? Not worth it in my opinion.
Now: 2006 130i with even more goodies ;)
Gone: 2008 116i with goodies :)

Having now fitted the bulbs and driven a few miles at night, I have to say I can't really see much of a difference at all, not worth spending extra money on them I'm afraid....

I've had these bulbs on for a week now, light output on the road wise... They are better than the mtec's (but tbh they aren't the best for comparison!)

For colour I think they are quite misleading with their packaging on the colour. Obviously I wasn't expecting complete purple but the purple was really unnoticeable until I mentioned to my friends also like Dan did.

Overall I think Phillips did well but for the price, I don't think it's worth it!

P.S. If anyone else is interested in these, can give me a PM? If that's allowed by eurocarparts!

So finally got around to getting these in this evening! With all the personal stuff i have on at the mo and work and also the weather this was the first chance i had. Luckily i still have the original bulbs the 130 came with so have been moaning about poor night time driving for a while (and the yellow look has been killing me)

So heres the unboxing part:

Left done, far more noticeably whiter in real life when compared to original right globe

Now with the right before and after:

So after doing both i decided to go for an evening drive on some of my awesome no street light roads and immediately i was impressed with the difference, normally i would be going for high beam anychance i could get however now i wasnt bothered. Visibility drastically improved, the light on the road was whiter and made things seem more distinguishable. When looking at the globe up close you can see the tinge of colour but thats really where it stops. So if your hoping for a slightly coloured beam then this wont be what your after. If you are however looking for some bulbs to match your car colour and then it to be slightly noticeable at night then these might be for you. If they were a 5 er more than a set of regular bulbs i would say yes but if they come in at over £10 more than a regular set i would say stick with the tried and tested osrams.
