That "off set" is only because the scuttle panel is over one way slightly.The motor will not need adjusting all you have to do now is put wiper arm back on but a notch or two down and it will solve your problem.bmw will just laugh at you if you show them that photo.

Are you sure. Look at the fixing above the wiper shaft. That’s in position and on the same panel so if the plate was out that wouldn’t align and there’s no leeway on it.
