116d remap and dpf removal

Post by Evzy159 » Sun Mar 01, 2015 4:53 pm

Hi guys interested in having my car mapped with you, I have a 116d 59 plate LCI

Just wondering what the timescale will be on having my car mapped, dpf removed and egr blanked and both mapped out with you? As it's my only car will need to see how long I will be without the car for?

Thanks in advance
Aaron

116d remap and dpf removal

Post by Anish1993 » Sun Mar 01, 2015 4:59 pm

Depends who's doing it. You probably shouldn't delete the dpf. It's an MOT failure and bad for the environment. ecotune quote 200bhp from just the remap. I'd stick with that.. More than enough.

Probably a few hours work. No longer than a day.

210bhp with DPF delete.

I dont mind about mot failure, would rather spend £80 for it to pass the mot than spend silly money fixing the damage a dpf could cause, iv always had all my cars decatted and never had any issues it's just the same thing

P torque is closest to me and iv heard a lot of good things from them

Yeah I hear you. A blocked dpf is a nightmare. Eco tune would probably sort you out nicely. Go for it.

I wouldn't go as far as saying in a BIG fan no, passive smoking causes cancer do you preach to everyone you walk past smoking about that?

You may have heard that you can't smoke in a pub or in a restaurant and have a smoke.
Conversely, and for the same reasons, you can't legally remove the DPF.
I would be preaching if it was just a moral issue. But it's such a basic legal, consideration for other and health issue that it really shouldn't even need reminding. Gedit ?

I said nothing about in a pub or restaurant I said "walk past" passive smoking outside in the streets and in busy shopping city's is still just as bad?
What difference is the pollution from a small engines bmw going to make when there are thousands of buses/lorry sand old diesels chucking out smoke everywhere, how about if you feel so strongly about these problems put yourself in a position where you can voice your opinion to some who actually cares what you say? If I wanted to know how bad it was to remove my dpf the title to this thread would not be as it is, do unless you can answer any of the information above can you please take your opinion else where

It's not an opinion. It's fact : DPF removal is illegal. DPF are fitted for a reason. Diesel particulates are highly carcinogenic and are particularly aggressive towards small and growing lungs, like the one's in a kid's chest, which happens to be at the perfect height. If you never venture into town you won't need to remove the DPF.
The impact of a smoker in the street is tiny in relation but I will object to having smoke blown at my face or at my kids. Fortunately, I find that smokers are getting rarer and rarer.
You really won't like my opinion about people preferring to release diesel particulates in the atmosphere or people breaking the law in general, hence me sticking to facts.
As fleets of older cars, buses and trucks are being phased out and as they are being relaced by pdf equipped vehicles, the air in urban areas will become drastically less harmful, unless of course people choosing to break the law by removing their dpf are not prevented to do so or prosecuted. Really simple stuff.

Blimey this has got off topic lol

Our remap alone for the 116d is £345.00 including dyno set up with power runs.

We tune the 116d to 180hp and 300lbs/ft torque.

Haha yes usually dpf removals always go this way,

What sort of time frame do you guys offer for a dpf removal, egr blanked off and a remap? Could this be done in a day?
