It's a great piece of kit. One of our best sellers.

They also fit the Z4 with the N54 and N55 engines. Maybe even other models we've not tried. Get in touch if you have any questions

Meant to also mention for the 1M we do a specific version with some extra hardware to mount the cooler in a slightly different position.

This one is also £525 and can be found here http://www.wagner-tuning.co.uk/bmw-1m-e ... r-25-p.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Lower intake temps = denser air = more oxygen per volume = more power

Is there any impact on throttle response?

What is the bhp gain from one of these coolers?

There should be no noticeable impact on throttle response. The improvement in flow will more than compensate for the larger cooler volume.

Gains for just fitting our cooler should be in the region of 10-15hp. Please see attached independent dyno sheet on a stock 1M

Gains will be even bigger on a tuned car when compared to still using the factory cooler and the car will be able to run longer and harder before inlet temps start to become a problem.

Depends on how hot the turbo/s are, and the subsequent post turbo intake temperature.

It's not so much an increase in power that's the benefit, more the ability to maintain that power when being pushed hard. Mine heat soaks on track, and you can feel the timing pull and reduction in oomph as the ECU tries to control the problem.

With this you get 100% of the power available, 100% of the time.

Exactly, and a bit more power :)

Mike are you running any map or exhaust mods?

No, it's bog stock apart from all the suspension mods and pending I/C install.

Do you plan to tune it further?

Is yours the N54 or N55?

N54

Not sure really, it's fast enough as it is, especially the rate it carries speed through bends now. That said, if I were to drive a mapped one I may change my mind.

If it's fast enough for what you want then fine. I don't know so much about the BMW factory tune but I wouldn't want to do much track work with a standard VAG, not so sure about current ones but the ones I've played with most run lambda 1 and then go into overfuel to control egt.

A proper map on the car will give much improved performance and also give the engine a much safer fueling strategy. Like I said though, don't know about BMW on this.
