5 door rear sill scuff plates

Post by Moblies » Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:55 pm

Hi All

Just got a 2017 M140 5 door. Notice BMW skimp on rear sill plates. Assume a dealer will relieve me of a small fortune for a pair to match the front or any other suppliers of something suitable. Two kids so probably better to have them

Cheers

I bought some clear wrap and applied it to the areas likely to get most damaged.

I was wondering the same. Probably covers more of the area as well.

Do you not get any ‘cheaper’ looking black plastic sill plates like the m135?

Yep noticed that along with non dimming passenger wing mirror too. I am looking to try and fit something on the rear sills myself.

The other option is to buy some genuine rear plates and remove the lugs/yellow fitting things and tape the sill covers on.

I’ve ordered an A4 sized sheet of 3m film for now. Next time it goes in I’ll enquire about a pair of scuff plates. The film will probably be just as effective

65 plate F20 M135i LCI / MG / auto / well spec’ed with: Eibach Pro's / F21 tension strut / gloss black grilles, splitter, side blades & diffuser / performance wing mirrors / interior upgrades / full de-badge
