Changes the behaviour of the DSC Hydro (ABS) module, which controls the feel, brake balance, rain clearing (wipes the discs), all sorts.

You may have noticed the current behaviour of the brake pedal, normally it's got a long travel, but occasionally it can surprise you and be short/firm. That's the DSC module pre-empting an emergency stop/need for ABS by removing all the squish. http://babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=101276

The links you posted seem to be talking about coding the M Performance brakes. These cars have the M Sport brakes and this doesn't need coding as it'll be on the VO.

Are you suggesting that we code M Performance brakes for the M Sport brakes to reduce the initial pedal travel where there is no bite?

There is still a valid reason to change the lines though. Many people have reported a noticeable improvement over stock lines.
