TC / Gear changes

Post by Manc M135i » Thu May 31, 2018 2:01 pm

Anyone find the TC kills the power momentarily on agressive gear changes. Expected when it’s wet / damp but I’m seeing it when it’s dry with warm sticky tyres.

I’m talking full throttle, sport+ and manual sports setting on our ZF’s? Seems to effect 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd changes. Anything above that is all good.

It’s like you hit the limiter and rather than being pinned back as you transition in to the next gear the car kinda bogs down for a split second before taking off again?

TC in Sport+ should not be noticibly limiting engine power. It should only limit wheelspin via application of the brakes.

Are you certain that what you're experiencing is actually TC and not just the fact that the wheels are spinning and hence you've lost traction and forward momentum temporarily?

Definatley not wheel spin, feels like the cars overwhelmed by the power and has a momentary brain fart before releasing full power again.

TBF it’s not felt right since a did the manual TBA reset in the sticky. I’m thinking of taking it to my local dealer and paying for a full software reset, presuming that it includes TBA reset, gearbox and engine adaptations. 🤔

Mine does this at times in sport, not sport+ though.

Are you sure you're even in Sport+?

If it's consistent and repeatable, strap a camera to the Rev counter and show us what you mean.
