Clearing CEL with Torque app.

Post by Happybiker » Tue Jun 19, 2018 6:35 pm

I've just fitted a BCS 100 cell sports cat to my M135i and after 40 miles got a CEL. Tried to clear the fault multiple times using the Torque app but it's still there, am I doing something wrong?

I'll be doing an MHD flash this weekend which I think will sort it out but still want to clear it.... Any ideas?

Why not wait until the weekend and just clear it with MHD.

Still waiting on the cable to arrive and I've just realised I'm going away this weekend so would prefer to get rid of it before then.

Hi, are you trying to clear the cel when engine is running?
With engine running the cel will most likely not clear. Try doing it with only power on instead.. that should clear it.. I used torque to clear the cel on my m135i every week for a period of 2 years 😁.. so I know what I'm talking about.

Steps.
1. Power on(do not start the engine)
2. Clear the cel with torque.
3. Power off
4. Power on and start the engine.. cel should now be cleared

If it wont clear its probably because the fault is still present, especially if engine is running when you try to clear it, that said Torque can be a bit hit and miss with error codes but usually if it finds them it will clear them once fault is sorted of course.
