Vehicle security

Post by scov1984 » Fri Jun 22, 2018 9:14 am

Can anybody recommend any specific security products?

I'm thinking a steering lock but want one that will specifically fit well on the M140i (with automatic paddles). Any links etc would be much appreciated.

Maybe even consider a wheel clamp and any other recommended devices.

Thanks.
Arrived!: M140i Shadow Edition, 5dr Auto
Gone: Audi A5 2.0T Revo stage 1

autowatch ghost is probably the way to go - but the reality is it may invalidate part of your warranty
If it's got breasts or wheels - it's going to give you trouble

I use : https://megalock.se/produkt/megalock-standard/

I don´t know if you can get it outside of Sweden...try google and see if you find something. Easy to use and fits "with paddles"

+1 for Disklok

Used on my car for about 15+ years and no incidents.

Personally feel making my car slightly more difficult than someone elses will send them to a softer target. Obviously if they really want it they'll take it.

Oh, and Maglock and the like are easily defeated by cutting the wheel itself and simply removing the lock.

I use a Disklok on my Focus ST3 as it's parked outside the majority of the time, and so-far-so-good.

Build quality seems pretty good, and the "steering wheel sock" stops any marking of the leather when the device is left on for any length of time.

Another disklok user here works great as a visual deterrent.
