I wouldn't replace the dented intercooler for that small amount of damage if it isn't leaking. Strap your old man to the bonnet to have a listen while you do some handbrake turns!
The coolant rad on my mx bike is completely mangled but works fine.... Just don't try and un dent it. Plus you'll feel a div if you replace it and dent the new one.

Speak to Stuart or Elliott at Harry Fairbain Kirkcaldy parts, they offer a discount for the Facebook MLite group. My first splitter from them was just over £200 and the replacement (after I caught it on a speed bump) about £220 following BMW price rises. On that subject I suspect you may have also broken some of the plastic around the intercooler that the splitter attaches to, see my thread here on what I found when I fixed mine.

Thanks for the tips. I 'm pretty sure this plastic has been broken too, as I collected some of it off the road after the incident

Ill ping that number over to Cotswolds to add to the quote.

Looking like £350 for IC, £300 for splitter, £100 for this additional trim, =£750, Dealer quoted £1800 inc VAT, so they are charging £1050 for labour and paint. Think I will take it elsewhere, should be fine with OEM IC re warranty.

Thanks, would be interested in the OEM £90 but haven't been able to find one, strange for Cotswolds to be nearly 4 times the price, and my local dealer. I'm awaiting a quote from my own mechanic who used to work in my local dealer and he usually gets me trade prices.

Will update once I get that.

The one on Amazon looks to be a bargain if correct. Little to lose I suspect as Amazon's return policy is second to none.

Agreed on Amazons return policy but a big reason for going approved used was the 12 month warranty so keen on keeping that intact, also not sure if Amazon would stand over any issues with the engine should their product fail. £20 seems very cheap.

Interested in OEM at £90 but again very surprised. Cotswolds were 10% cheaper on the splitter and roughly the same on the IC, find it hard to believe it will be the same part.

They have also quoted £79 for the lower bumper assembly for others future reference

As mentioned speak to Stuart or Elliott at Harry Fairbain Kirkcaldy and mention the M Lite Facebook page. Unless the splitters have gone up significantly since I bought my second one about a year ago, £300 sounds a good £60-80 more than you'll pay from them, and they've been very competitive with everything else I've bought from them (they courier deliver 10L of BMW screenwash cheaper than my local dealer will sell it to me if I walk in!).

Thanks for the advice, I've pinged a message off FAO Stuart Murray, £60 is £60 at the end of the day.

Thanks very much for the recommendation Locoblade, Elliot was roughly £80 cheaper for the splitter and £20 for the IC, old man is £100 less worse off.

Ouch OP.

Your dad sounds like my dad, I took my honda fireblade (1000cc superbike) to my dads the day I bought it. Without a helmet or any protective gear so basically 80yr old dad lounge wear, he ripped off on the bike and went missing for 30mins. Thankfully no incident and the police didnt see (or catch him).

I wouldnt change him one little bit!

No worries, good to hear their reputation for top prices remains intact :)

Sounds like something I might try  especially as I'm missing the ability to handbrake with the Auto. I've been wondering if it would be possible to knock into neutral - handbrake - back to drive - power but too much risk involved and you really need to be applying power immediately on releasing handbrake or you go nowhere other than straight on.

If only autos came with a clutch to use if you wanted, then the ZF would be virtually perfect....
