25.9mpg. Auto 240.
Sport+ manual mode everywhere and gear changes for no reason. Hardly any motorway stuff, and a couple of track days thrown in the mix. Don’t think that’s too bad at all.

Just over 33mpg covering all the driving since driving away from the dealer 4.5k miles ago. Is still though at the point where maybe every couple of weeks it is going up by .1 of an mpg so maybe will end up around 34-35 I guess if I carry on driving the way I am now.

ECO PRO for weekdays to work and back (30 miles each way mainly on motorways), then mainly comfort at the weekends with some sport every now and again - although to be honest it seems that the weekend driving that lowers it is more due to shorter journeys rather than which mode it is in.

26.3 mpg and about 2500 km in the clock. Mixed driving mostly motorway driving. Manual.
Current M140i F20 MG, manual, pretty much standard package, AST 5100 coilovers + AST front drop links, Mpe, mp gear knob, underbelly brace

I was actually quite surprised how low the mpg is on my M140i. My average is almost identical to my previous 2010 Impreza STi (2.5litre, 330bhp, AWD), and on long motorway journeys the mpg is also virtually identical. I would have thought that a much more modern engine on a RWD platform with 2 extra gears would have outweighed the 2 extra cylinders.

Over a tank my 140i auto gets 29mpg consistently over almost 10k now, according to the on board computer (reset after each tank). Motorway runs can see the trip show over 40 with out any effort and I don't even bother looking when I press on. Overall 30mpg-ish I think its a very impressive return.

Normally have the car in eco pro, as I've set the car to start in that mode and I actually enjoy driving it like that, I enjoy how relaxed it makes the car. Granted its slow but I don't care when I'm going to work or taking the gf out.

max8648 - how fast are you accelerating, and in what mode.

I must be the only cautious driver that will have a m140!
Eco pro/comfort when cruising along on the commute with most of my bursts of accelerating in sport

How can you make it start on eco mode?

I’m averaging 32mpg over 32000miles in 140... beat on a tank 440miles worst (more fun) 250... it gets driven with sympathy but to it's full ability..

First weekend of owning my M140i (auto) 20mpg. Now I get 28ish. Depends on the weather, these hot dry days don't help as my foot seems much heavier :P

30.2mpg over 20,500 miles in my auto M140i

It does a bit of everything - motorway, fast A road, and round town work. Tends to be driven fairly hard, and in Sport or Sport+ mode whenever it's not on the motorway. I never use ECO PRO - life's too short for that nonsense. ;)

I regularly see low to mid 40s as a trip average on longer runs.

Traditionally it's been run on V-Power but recently switched to Momentum 99 as the price of V-Power has become ridiculous (145.9-146.9 round here now, vs 131.9 for Momentum) - no noticeable difference between the two.

Town driving in heavy commuter traffic kills the consumption and brings my average down to 32mpg. It is possible to get 48 on the motorway part of the journey but the bits either end pull the average down in the real world.
Fast a roads in sport manual at 300 plus will dipwell bellow 30 but cant put a price on the fun factor!!

If you use echo pro you wold be better off with a 114i kills off everything the car is about, saves fulelon motorway runs though.

At least the 140 responds to economical driving if that's what you are after, more than some other manufacturers are capable off.

This is 140i Auto 7k miles

Averaging the exact same over 16500 miles in my manual 140, the car has been pushed to its limits on occasion too... Also always been run on V-power, interesting to know that you've not noticed a difference between the fuels, curious to see if that continues though !

I can manage 40mpg pretty easily on motorway commutes, although my trip to the new forest this weekend from London saw about 32 due to some spirited driving !

I'd love to know how your all getting these MPG, since the good weather came in I'm down from 18.5 to 17.5.
