Didn't you say you've got a Sports Cat too, surely that would throw that CEL?

Yeah so the cat threw up a light. It was intermittent. I know this as I have had the cat on like 10 days now. But it saved the error code. The tuners wiped it then tried the 4 different files. The best they got was 326bhp. So they put it back to stock. A quick blast to the nearest bmw specialist and they hooked up and got the 2 warnings one being the tamper. Other being the lambda (they said it was o2). Would that o2/lambda sensor on the cat really stop me getting another 50-60bhp? And my car being a pwg do I need a harness? or can I plug in and get the power I should be getting, ie 370-380bhp?

If PWG no extra harness required but you will need to check 02 sensor plug ends to ensure they are plugged in properly as this could cause the code.

Without 02 sensory info DME will be cautious re boost/timing as AFR will be via MAF only as opposed MAF and 02 wideband data.

JB4 & sports car on healthy PWG motor should see you at 380bhp.

So plan is new o2 sensor, jb4 then rolling road, then 380 bhp? It says on the diagnostic it’s slow response. Could that be due to the spacer that I used? It came with the cat.

Ok so. Been to a second tuners today. Explained some stuff to me. Basically the first tuners haven’t provided me with enough information for him to see what’s going on with the map they loaded on to my car. So now it’s back to bmw to get that sensor then book it in at this place and start again from scratch. But he did say that his mapping equipment was a lot better than the first place I went. And he writes his own maps. Not like the first place I went.

Why don't you sack off these dire maps and get a proven product like MHD.

Have to agree here. I'd never just let any old generic mapper touch my car personally.

tbh the 2nd guy would 9times out of 10 say he’s better than the first

also whenever i need to be seen by a mapper/ specialist garage i can’t get in next day so has this new garage got much work load or is it just a guy off facebook with a laptop?

think i have had to wait at least 2 weeks before any tuning/dyno time

G'wood - where are you based ?

It would be worthwhile a trip to Hayes to BW Chiptune to fettle yr cars ECU or setup a custom map on JB4, if decide to go JB4 route. Good guys and no BS

Looks like OP would rather that or a JB4. MHD is better than both of those, cheaper, map it yourself at home, user friendly & idiot proof. No brainer...

How do I get my hands on mhd. A google search just took me to their Facebook page. I don’t have Facebook. Is there a uk dealer?
