Thats on Meth? Sod that.
I've done 41k miles in the last 18 months, that's a sh*t load of meth and bother the way I drive.
I Dont know My friend, just saw it on insta stories 😇
It’s meth injection, jb4 with a wrench back end flash. Comparing apples with oranges.

Wrench’s flash only tune currently is 7.77 which is still ludicrously fast.
Chris at dervtechs done unreal to hit a 7.56 flash only, hoping to take mine back to get some more tweaks and improve mine.

How close have you got to the 7.5 time?

Impressive. But I've done meth and its an utter ballache on a daily.
Jb4 only enables meth on 100% throttle so even used as a daily commute car you wouldn’t use any meth until spirited runs
I commute 70 miles a day on A roads at 3AM in the morning normally. I use full throttle a fair bit.

8.4 but consistent unlike when I was running jb4 would vary from 8.5-9.5. Im back up to dervtech at some point next week, having my map tweaked by chris. Dieing to hit flat 8s/high 7s
Driveability wise the map is night and day compared with the jb4 though.

Couldn't agree more.

I'm very impressed with the guys at DervTech.

And the cold start delete has made my neighbours very happy.

Be good to see how close you can get to 7.5 time, as it should be repeatable on customers cars once you have the same map as the development car 👍🏼

No sarcasm intended. dervTech are able to stop the stupid high idle on every single start. Now my car just starts normally and drops to 700/800rpm instantly, cold or warm.

High idle is a characteristic of the 140i then? Haha just trying to pass the time while I wait for mine to arrive by learning as much as I can about these cars

The high idle and subsequent louder sound (as a result of the open wastegate) is a result of the "cold start" process intended on warming up the catalytic converter. Takes about 30 seconds for everything to quieten down gradually.

On the older turbo BMW motors (N54/N55) this used to happen only when the coolant was below a certain temp, e.g. first drive in the morning, and subsequent start ups while coolant was above that threshold it would start and idle normally. With the B58, for some reason, regardless of the coolant temp situation the cold start process is engaged with every start up.

Not sure why BMW chose to do this. Perhaps further emission optimisation or perhaps they thought people may like the sound?
