Anyone recognise this car?

Post by frs3052 » Sat Jan 05, 2019 2:58 pm

Been to view it today along with a few others

https://www.le11cars.co.uk/used-cars/se ... =Hatchback

Just wondering if anyone knows the car. Trying to work out why it seems to have done no miles in the last year.

Serviced in 09/17 on 18k and still on 18k Miles.

Apologies if this is in the wrong place

If you look at the pic of the steering wheel there is a lot of "Shine" of the right hand side, that suggests to me ( IMHO ) that and the fact it has not had its first mot yet MAY suggest its been "Adjusted" if its local go see and it will soon give itself away if its been in the time machine.

What was the drivers seat bolster like???

Call me cynical but on the whole the car looks not bad but there is evidence of wear around that centre console like it has been entered and exited a lot. the suspicious thing for me is with cars like this they never show a clear shot of the drivers seat bolster and in this case i cannot see that picture anywhere? which make my nasal hairs start doing a jiggy because the drivers bolster is always the dead giveaway of a hard life...

I don’t remember the steering wheel or the seat looking any more worn than the other cars I’ve viewed today (all being 18-28k miles).... although now doubting myself.

Car seemed in pretty good condition generally.

Only thing that stuck as odd in my mind was the service meilagw and current mileage being around 300 miles apart but the service was over a year ago now.

Can cars sit for a year in the used car network?

that would raise some hairs to me like was it damaged or flooded out or summat it maybe innocent though but i would want to know where it has been with the reputation these cars have for hooligans and being damaged and thrashed and crashed a lot...

interior is not bad but it looks seat wise, console and wheel a bit well like unkempt and grotty to me for it's age and miles and the price too...

Front leather panel on the drivers seat looks very shiny for an 18K miles car. Something is not quite right about this motor. If you cannot check the full history I would walk away.
DEFECTED TO SKODA.

There's nothing in the pictures that concerns me, all tho am just on my mobile phone not a laptop.
I viewed a very low mileage m135i before purchasing my car and it had some scuffing on the drivers bolster as the owner was elderly the damage he did to the rear bumper was more of a concern.

The photo of the sat nav showing the globe - how do you get that then? Is that standard - looks like tis from another car. 300miles in one year? I'd walk away. Brake disk looks heavily scored too from the picture...
2017 Petrol - many galloping horses.. Intergalactic miles....
2014 Dirty White 120d sport auto - brilliant but gone to help save the planet from diesel....

Golden rule - if it doesn't seem "right" walk away. 300 miles in a year. A sat nav that seems to show the car thinks it is in the middle of the ocean. Brakes discs that look badly worn for 18000 miles. Nah ... walk away.

:censored: if this is being sold by a dealer and not mentioned it's been in an accident then that's awful.

I suspect noone is going to buy my report anyway so will bring some light. It was stolen/recovered, no damage but this explains why so low mileage as car was gone and then probably stuck on salvage parking site for few months.

But in terms of cars being sold I have identified few dealers recently who have cars being sold as HPI CLEAR, and even talked to them to confirm if they are 100% HPI CLEAR and free of accidents and only heard YES. See example of such car here....

I HAVE contacted all major car magazines and websites with email listing about 100 of examples of cars being HPI clear and noone has responded to me as of yet in a week time.

It feels like UK car industry doesn't see an issue with any discoveries I made

Just to confirm three examples above are currently for sale and if you do HPI on them they are all clear and green like american money.

How would you feel once you bought it from a dealer and later discovered this ^^^^?
