18k in 2 years  ...
Not an actual figure though as taking the total amont of finance and interest over term rather than what a current settlement would amount to and the current value used is a low ball wbac figure.

We could all depress ourselves similarly I am sure

Cars cost a lot if you want a newish one.

Our E91 has cost us £34k since buying it 10 years ago, around £300/month.

Losing £18k in 2 years is not brill, but when we moved house back in 2011 the stamp duty and moving fees were £19k which was even worse so I always compare car buying to that! ;)

Worse still, I’ve had to pay for 2 funerals since last August and they were £11k.

It’s just money I guess in the end, we all die and can’t take it with us (as I’ve witnessed twice in 6 months).

i future proofed meself a bit buying and paying in full plus it was a steal cos i bought a staffer 140i wiv minimal options ticked did not bother me im analogue. so i lose far less when i chop it in as there is only 1 price in a valuation guide daft i know but it is how it is when it comes to a heavily box ticked options car it means little or nothing at all in chopping in value just a nicer car to buy second hand for the new owner..

I've said it before but cars should be looked at like holidays, ultimately a complete waste of money but very enjoyable.

Anyway all the best KR15.

Yep, there's no point in thinking too much about it.

I sometimes raise an eyebrow when people are spending (excessively) on car's instead of their future, but to be honest each to their own, it's their money and they've earned it to spend it how they want. You can't take it with you and life's too short to worry too much about things like that.

Wow. I've lost 8216 in 17 months (new 30401, wbac offering 22185 today). I plan on paying the GFV after 24 months, which is 18200, so it looks to be about on track. I'll probably keep it for at least another year, then see what other options are around.

Reason I ask is otherwise you have to factor in 8.2k lost in depreciation but also 17months X £ in monthly payments.

i think he means interest repayment rate which is a strange one looking at my mates deal if you have an interest rate PCP you get discounted car but if you have interest free you don't get a discount so is rather pointless as you are actually paying the same price anyway just looks better with the discount on paper..

Yes, "my friend"

are you saying that your payments per month equalled the same amount lost in depreciation?

I assume like dailydoggey pointed out you are talking about actual loss being the monthlies including interest?
