Post by JohnsM135i »

Sorry forgot to say mine are ET40

They definitely stick out more than the standard wheels

Lovely wheels.

Looks like it’ll be another test fit when the tyres are on and see how we go! Thanks all for the advice, I’ll have a look for spacers and get them ordered if it’s ridiculously tight to the strut

I have these in 8.5J all round (ET42). Stock suspension currently, and the fronts have probably 2mm clearance to the struts - hoping this improves a bit when I go B12 kit in the next couple months; if not - M4 LCA here I come!

I think the fronts could probably use another 3mm poke to sit flush with the wheel arch, and the rear maybe 7mm?

Looks good.

What tyre sizes are you using? Is the 2mm actual alloy to strut clearance, or tyre to strut?

You won’t be able to fit M4 LCA in there without getting narrower rims. Plus it doesn’t make any difference to the wheel to strut clearance. It pushes the whole hub (and strut) outwards.

FYI, M4 LCA's don't change the clearance between wheel and strut. The longer LCA's push/angle the struts further out, not the (just) wheels.

Tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 4 245/35, and the quoted 2mm is tyre to strut - sorry should have been clear!

Thankyou both! That's good karma right there, I try to help a fellow m-liter and end up saving myself a costly mistake in the process!

Wheels look unreal.

It looks tight but I think it'll be OK like others have said. I'll be going for an 8x18 ET40 set up when I order mine shortly from Demon Tweeks.
My Bola are just that size too with standard tyre sizes, nice fit and look great.

Gets some spacers asap as 2mm tyre to strut is not enough.

Seconded. I have Bola FLC’s in 8.5 et42 and have some 3mm spacers to be fitted. With 225 MPS4 tyres up front it is way to tight (car lowered on motech stance eibach springs).

I’ve ordered some Veemann V-FS38 in 8J ET35 and going to have a square 245/35/18 setup and hoping they should be fine, they will just poke out quite a bit further than the stock wheels and tyres now.
