Why pay ££££s for these when you can get any size/colour finish from ebay or a local parts shop???
Got any links for tips which fit properly please?
No cant do links sorry but just measured the pipe diameter is 60mm, so just find your preference at 60mm.

I've got the 435i brushed aluminium tips of my 235i, didn't fancy chrome but also didn't like the standard black ones, really pleased with them

I really like those. They look much better than either the black or chrome equivalents.

How much were they and how are they holding up to corrosion?

£78 i think it was? Cotswold are great for it, and forum sponsors.

They havent been on long, 6 weeks or so, but still look great. I just use a little metal polish to keep them clean when i wash it.

My black tips were the same, I can only assume they paint them with black cheese as they go corroded after less than 3 weeks.

They are covered under warranty though, I got through 3 replacement sets of black exhaust tips before getting my MP exhaust - the chrome tips on that are far better but still need to be metal polished once every 3 months.

Hi everyone

I realise this is an old post now but I need some advice! I've just bought a white m235i from local bmw dealer. The car is standard but I've asked for the m performance rear diffuser to be fitted as well as the chrome tail pipes I've seen on this post. The bmw dealer told me that the tried to fit the m performance chrome pipes but said they looked awful, basically described the look as a pea shooter with the small standard exhaust sat inside the larger diameter chrome m performance tip, the also said the exhaust system rattled about when fitted. Now I do have a standard exhaust system on the car at the moment but I thought that the m performance tips could be added to the standard system as many of you have suggested here. Are the guys at BMW trying to fob me off? I really don't like the standard tips, they just don't look right on that car for me, but I don't really want to lay out for the full m performance system just yet either, I thought the tips where the right way to go. Can anyone give me any advice here because I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall with bmw? Also does anyone have any pictures of a stock exhaust with the chrome tips on from right in front of the pipe, I would love to see this 'pea shooter' effect that I've been told about because I have a feeling that they haven't attempted the install properly.

Any advice on this would be great guys thank you.

Dan

The chrome or brushed aluminium tail pipes that you want are the 435i tips, not the MPE tips.

The MPE tips don’t fit the standard exhaust without modifying it where as the 435i tips slot straight on.

The M235i can accept BMW large-bore adapters and then M Performance tips, it should look the same as the MPE once done.

You need both parts 8 & 9 on here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpar ... Id=03_0168

Hey Marco, does that apply for the 135i LCI as well? :)

No, definitely not. The M135i has a far shorter boot and exhaust than the 2er, zero room for the big-bore adaptor sections sadly. Believe me, I've tried all sorts! :(

Thanks so much for the advice! If I was to go with the adaptors and M Performance chrome tips would both work with M performance rear diffuser? My local dealer has been pretty useless on finding this information out for me so thanks for the help!

They are designed to be used with the MP Diffuser. If you don't fit the longer MP Diffuser the tips can stick out too far.

Thank you! I am still being told by my local BMW that this can only be achieved with the full m performance exhaust would you believe!
