What is the last dates for placing a factory order? Is it the start of June or end of June?

You will need to place your order sooner than later as no more build slots after June.

Thanks Chris.
Just got 12 build slots left for June now. These will indeed lock down in the next few weeks
so then it would be a case of taking a car from stock as it comes.

Wow. Those are not many build slots. Anyone with an itch shouldn't be sleeping on this offer. This especially applies if you want front parking sensors, adaptive dampers or an interior other than black.

I would love to order one, however the wife thinks its too small. Even though she has her own car that we use on the weekends with the baby. I've tried a dealership to see if i could get a M140i for a 24hr test drive so i can convince her that it meets our requirements, for our day to day lives but to no avail. We have a 11 month old baby and the baby seat fits fine in the back. I think i have to resign myself to missing out. I have no interest in a 4 pot 1 Series.Life sucks sometimes. I had the colour, trim and all the options already picked out. Sigh.

Don't know if it's any help but we have a 17 month old and my Mrs was ok with the 140. It helped when I told her the boot has about the same capacity as the Golf (apparently). Mine hasn't arrived yet but I think in a 5 door is absolutely fine for family duties. Quite a useful practicality review here:

The M140i doesnt have great leg room in the bad and might feel restrictive if you use an isofix base with a leg. However, once your child can walk you will rarely travel with the pram and they will sit in a forward facing which requires less legroom than an ISO-Fix one.

How do I know? I’m replacing a practical and spacious Skoda Fabia with an M140i and have a BMW X3 for when travelling with my 2.5 year old and 6 month old. Anytime I’ve taken my 2.5 year old to a park, softplay, town or for shopping in the Skoda we haven’t needed boot space for a big pram.

If you have a second practical car then there’s no reason not to order an M140i. However, if you are planning to have three children then Tony might be able to give you a good deal on an 2-Series Grand Tourer. :D

Is there a FAQ page that can answer some basic questions about PCP factory order before i email TRL with a spec i'm interested in?

Do i spec the car up on the BMW configurator and send TRL the URL link of the summary? if i go the low deposit route £372. When do i pay that and is there anything else to pay before the car arrives (whenever it does presuming factory order here). if in the very unlikely event i changed my mind, what fees would i incur for cancelling the order? Could I get a LSD fitted at a later date or as this is the outgoing 1 series would BMW offical LSD for this 1 series be difficult to procure? Some very noob questions i know, but this would potentially be my first pcp car purchase.

From what I remember (someone please correct me if it has changed):

1. You can either spec it up there or list the options you want in an email, I think I did the latter. You could do both but you will have chance to confirm the spec once the car is 'built' by Tony
2. You pay a £1000 holding deposit for the build slot. If you have any other deposit to pay it will be the balance of what is owed less the £1k already paid. In your example I'm assuming you'd not pay a monthly payment until your deposit/payment in advance has been 'used up'
3. You would more than likely lose your £1k holding deposit if cancelling.
4. Yes you could get an LSD fitted. Should be stocked by the dealer network for a good while and if not you could get aftermarket (e.g Quaife) or used.

Im not 100% sure on the deposit but, but apart from that, as said above.

You will also need to work out what period you want the PCP over (up to 4 years) and how many miles per annum you will require (only comes into play if you return your car to BMW Financial Services).

With that info, Tony will be able to put you a quote together.
