so based on the above figures then, with the estimate that each £1k deposit knocks off £25 per month, would it be safe to assume that you could get a pre-reg M2 (at around £42k) for around £70 per month?

If so, i may have to go speak to Cooper Reading at lunch...

Thanks,

James

It was my understanding with pcp that there is a limit on the amount of deposit you can put down....is that £70 at max deposit?

You will not be able to finance less than the MGFV so you won't be able to pay more deposit than that or over 40% which ever comes first.

However as mentioned earlier is that you can over pay your finance (once it's begun) to either reduce your monthly payments or reduce term of the finance contract

So sorry guys, realised I made a huge error! I’m completely down the other end, I meant £370 a month based on understanding that each £1k less of deposit add £25 to the monthly price. What’s he cheapest per month with 0 deposit... sorry.

I picked mine up on Saturday after a fairly quick decision to sell my problematic E92 M3.

Its the same spec as all the currently available pre reg M2's seem to be - elec heated seats, elec mirrors, HK DCT etc and I added carbon rear diff & spoiler black kidneys:

£10.7K deposit £100 a month for 30 months @ 3.9% - GFV £32K

Seems like a similar deal to previously mentioned ones I guess they have a few to shift from last year?

Personally I am made up with it its a massive saving on list.....shame about the deal on my E92 😭
This has to be deal of the century!?

A bit confusing because according to that deal, if you paid 0% deposit you should be paying £350/month!

(£25 per extra £1000)

Now that it's getting closer to the M2 Competition launch, I suspect BMW are partly subsidising some of these great deals right now..

I think the dealers which are struggling to meet targets the most are the ones which are really pushing to give great deals on cost to change as well as on the finance :D

It pays to shop around ;)

Me neither but if you pump the figures into PCPcal.co.uk - they work out (£100/month as above) but if you remove the deposit altogether, it comes to something like £475.

The key thing here is the Low purchase price and high GFV because it's only over 2.5 years.

Originally the finance paper work looked like this:
same deposit, 29 payments of £204.24 @7% apr, GFV31,104.01
But after the disagreement on the apr they came back with the deal mentioned above.

I am realizing from others comments that I got very lucky with this deal!

Hi Guys.

Im looking for an M2 at the moment. Appears to be quite a few 67 pre regs ranging in price for the same spec. from £41k +

Bit confused as some have PCP down as 3.9% others 9%+

I assume the aim of the game is to get lowest price, lowest APR and high GFV ?

If anyone knows of any dealerships with good deals. Let me know

Thanks

The 3.9 rate applies to new cars, in the instance of pre-reg’s they have to have less than 100m miles on the clock, anything above that and it’s veiwed as a used car and therefore has the high rate.

Some dealers will try and apply the height rate to a car’s with less than 100miles, however if you challenge it they usually drop it to the lower rate.

Thanks.

That makes sense. So best to look for a car with less then 100 miles and try and get it as cheap as possible

So i wonder if i could apply that same logic to a M3 Comp... if they'd let me PCP for 2 years.. then with a healthy discount, the GFV would stay high and i'd get a reasonable monthly!

Sound logic.... but i don't think BMW would agree ;)

Do you have a part exchange?

If yes, It's the cost to change amount that will be the factor to determine if you get a good deal... If dealer A is offering an M2 for £2k less than dealer B but has offered £3k less for your p/x then dealer B is the better deal :D

The only way to know this figure is to find out what each dealer is offering for your car and the cost difference to change..

If there is no part exchange, then it's a little simpler.. I would be looking for around 15+% discount personally... Finance also to be negotiated but 3.9% APR is doable if car is less than 100 miles and also less than 4 weeks (I think) after registration.. Some dealers may not be able to do the 3.9% but may offer other incentives to get your business if you negotiate hard
