Couple of Q's

Post by dainesefreak » Sun Apr 15, 2018 4:16 pm

Thinking of chopping the M135 in fairly soon for a pre-reg M2 and I've got a couple of questions.

Rough idea of 1st service costs? With the bike I do less than 8k miles per year and if I go for 36 months I'll probably only hit 1 service.

Recommendations for insurance? I'm currently with Aviva and a quick quote tells me I'll be adding £100 odd quid for the remaining 200 days.

Cheers all.

Running in service at 1200 miles is around £300 and then the first normal service will be around £400 at around 15-20k miles (condition based)

3 year service pack is around £1k which you will only get the 2 above services so not cost effective unless you do higher mileage where you can sneak in another service

Nice one, cheers Sooty.

That will more or less cover me by the sounds of it then. I've just paid £300 for my 1st service at 2yrs on the 135, I hit the time based service rather than the mileage. I was guessing the service schedule would be different because of the M badge.

On this point of service costs - is there a set price for RIS or do they tend to vary?

As with servicing it tends to vary between dealers

Personally i would insisit the RIS as a minimum is thrown in as part of the deal. No dealer is going to lose a sale over that.
