The trouble with 225/40 all round is the stretch won't be even. Little stretch at the front and lots on the back might look a bit odd?

Unless you went 8" ET35 with 225/40 front and rear?

Okay so it's looks like its a 245/35 rear or it's a no go and it's back to the drawing board

Jesus have never known anything like this before with choosing wheels, seems like I am up against it with every option ?! as I say will try find out if these 245/35 tyres on the rear are a goer and if so will get everything ordered up and fitted and let you guys back to answering others folks questions  your really have got great patience bearing with me on this one thanks so much again guys.

I have more stretch on my rear than my front. Most people do the same as well bud :). It's like a standard thing. If the wheels are staggered the majority will put a wider tyre on the rear but still go for stretch to clear arch/legality.

Ah, I'm not into this Euro thing. I thought an inch more stretch on the back would look uneven? Plus he specifically stated he needs some rim protection.

Why not run 8" front and rear John? Do you need staggered? I run 8" all round on my M135i.

Yep would prefer staggered, sadly it would seem we don't have a definitive answer regards the 245/35 on the 9 rear. as I says sadly it could be an expensive mistake if I order it and it does not fit !!

I'm not arguing or disagreeing with that bud. Just saying what the majority of the "scene" do in regards to stretch where you mentioned the whole uneven look :).

Are you not meant to run a bigger profile on the rear, at the very least the same profile front and rear on RWD cars? Rather than lower profile rear compared to the front?

The M135i comes with 225/40/18 fronts (637.2mm) and 245/35/18 rears (628.7mm) as standard, so I don't believe that's the case.

No issues, might just take a 255/35.

245/35 would be a comfortable fit.

Sorry guys late to the party -

Jono this is my set up -
Alloys - VMR v710
Front - 18 x 8.5 ET 45
Rear - 18 x 9.5 ET 50

Tyres -
Front - MPSS 225/40/18
Rear - MPSS 245/35/18

On standard M sport suspension -

The only issues we had with rubbing was Stubbsy was on birds suspension and Tom Shotter was on eibachs springs (I think) so standard suspension will be fine with this set up.

No poke and more importantly no rubbing - in fact next time I need tires I'm going to go 235 on the fronts and 255 or maybe 265 on the rears as the rears defo look too stretched for my liking.

Twennys car looks spot on with that fitment as well. Pictures don't do it justice!
