BMW 123D Service & Swirl Flap Delete completed - Thanks!

Post by dj_troopa » Mon Sep 12, 2016 11:44 am

On Saturday i had my service and swirl flap delete carried out by BW Chiptune. This was the first service i had done in my ownership so i let BW Chiptune take care of it for me. No more dealer services in my book from now on! Many of you will know the problems caused by swirl flaps resulting in engines failing and requiring an engine replacement at a cost of £2k+! The work was completed with no issues and the car is driving as it should.

Just as they are on forums, nice people and very informative, happy to say i'll be taking my car back for a map and any other future work that needs doing. Lucky for me they're literally a 3-4 min drive from my house :)

Thanks BW Chiptune!

Hi Troopa, :)

I was under the impression that for any BMW cars built 2011 onwards their would be no need for swirl flap removal as it is now made out of plastic. More so actually you simpily cannot remove them because of they way they have been inserted deep in the engine. Some confirmation on this would be great, I own a 123D 2012 Reg.
