225xe and Spotify

Post by charlas » Wed Dec 05, 2018 5:18 pm

Hi guys, I just picked up my new 225xe,and have the BMW and Spotify app etc on my phone, the BMW connect app does auto launch on connect, and everything seems fine there. The spotify icon appears in both connected and media in the I-drive, however if I launch it I just get an empty screen. I can go back from it, and re launch as much as I like, but just an empty screen.

I'm running Android (s8+) and Spotify works just fine through Bluetooth just fine (no artwork though?)

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks all.

Hi,

It's a spotify issue. Mines had the same problem after a recent spotify update. I had to download an older version of spotify and it's working again no problems showing album art etc,. I also had to disable 'auto up-dates' on my android phone to stop spotify updating to the latest firmware. I have contacted spotify and made them aware of their latest version causing a conflict.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up, I'll pull an older one down from apkmirror and have a test.

I'll bug it with Spotify too.

Ok, so from. What i can work out, the last version that worked is 8.4.79.630 (android) just so you know.

Dash roller still broken on it though, everything else works fine though.
