I don't think we will buy another diesel, not because of the impending doom, but mainly because petrols are so much more efficient now that the old costs savings of diesel are no longer there.

Not to mention petrols drive so much nicer than diesels.

Really think this will be the case? My 318d 2012 is [Euro5] this has made me rather worried.... ... ur-vehicle

The knives are out for dirty Euro 5 cars.
If you live in London maybe.

I wouldn't worry too much just yet, it will be 10 years + before values of anything from 2007 onwards are hit too hard. I'm certainly not worried about our e91 which is only worth £7k as it is, another few years and it will be scrap value anyway.
Yeah London is the only place at min, I thought it was a new scheme, paid that few times in my older diesel 1er. Same here value of mine is around £6k so not too precious over values, so in same boat to you.

Be interesting to see what happens in Liverpool or Manchester if they decide to follow London.

Doing 28-30k a year, a diesel is my only real option if i want to spend less money  yes

Petrols are very efficient now but, still not as good for high mileage drivers imo
