Last thing I read, they were pricing it at £40k and a few pounds, so the road tax would be £500 per year. Odd decision, imo.

If they were £39,999 new, they'd probably make a good 2nd hand buy at a year old at roughly £30k (with 6 years warranty remaining).

EDIT: P11D is actually £39,240 (in vomit yellow) - my bad. 1st Year VED is £1,200 though.

I actually saw this car a few months ago. They were filming it for a commercial in Portnockie on the moray Firth

It looks really good up close. From a distance we thought it was a Jaguar. Really impressive.

However unless the discounts are great it’s prices square on to a 440i and no one is going to buy one at that price. There is still a brand issue and a depreciation problem. Which will make the finance very expensive

Good first attempt mind

The list price of the Kia Pro Ceed GT is £23,800. A quick glance at Autotrader and there's a 15 plate at a Kia main dealer for £9495.

That's heavy depreciation for 2.5 years. On the opposite side that's a lot of car for the money and the comfort of another 4.5 years warranty.

I just can't see this doing very well at all either. Zero pedigree and expensive running costs compared to rivals. If values go like their hot hatch effort then maybe it'll tempt a few, but who'll buy one to kick it off?

Just saw one in the KIA showroom off the side of the M4/A4 flyover into London. Did look good. Still wouldn't consider buying it new just like the Hyundai i30N, but a couple of years down the line when it's lost half it's value and still have 5 years warranty - that could be tempting!

It doesn't look at all bad tbf! But was expecting better performance figures given engine size and power, But then again it is a Kia who are only just entering making big powerful engines. Looks a nice car imo but could I pay 40k for a Kia? Nahhhh
