MP or M2 Carbon Interior

Post by SOL111 » Fri Feb 23, 2018 12:15 pm

Hi all

As above just interested in opinions between the two interior kits.

I like both but can't decide between the alcantara or plain dash panel.

Difference in price is £50 so not a problem.

I've looked at alternatives but really like the matt open weave.

Thanks!

Personally I would go for MP its neutral in terms of what its intended for, an m2 interior is for an m2 if you get my drift. Come to sell and I would think an MP interior in an mlite would be far more attractive for a used buyer than an mlite having an m2 interior, you could remove and sell on though I suppose.

The matt open carbon weave in the M2 is nothing special IMO.......and I have one.

Thanks and I know what you mean about the M2 thing. I don't normally like to rip from other cars but they're both virtually identical bar the dash trim.

I was trying to avoid introducing another material i.e. the alcantara, but it is very nice.

Obvs I'd rather go the whole hog and get the M2 but hey ho :D

I personally would not let that bother me...

The M2 interior is nicer and looks more quality than the Alcantara dash parts in my opinion but I must admit I would have preferred a wet carbon to the dry carbon offered by both M2 & MP interior kits

Thanks.

For a £50 difference it seems a no brainer but admittedly it's still bloody expensive when there are similar products on the market.

I guess it's a personal thing but I'm a fan of the dry look.

Could the dry stuff not be clear coated to get the gloss/wet look?

Perhaps but would it be worth risking a DIY job if you make a mess of it considering the cost?

If you were going to do DIY perhaps better to buy some used trim off ebay and then get some carbon skinning done.. I know I tried it once from my M135 days amd the whole lot ended up in the bin

Oh no I wouldn't try it myself

I'm sure the places that do the skinning could do it
