Pops disappeared....

Post by figolovechild » Mon Apr 16, 2018 12:55 pm

Right guys,

This is a weird one. Had my car in getting all 4 wheels refurbed after a tyre fitter damaged them. When I collected the car, I noticed there was a mile on the clock.
Since then the pops and crackles are very quiet. Is there any reason why this would happen all of a sudden?

Yeah there is paranoia there but could there be any reason why the pops are really quiet now? I deliberately used to blip the throttle going into my street as I got a nice echo but I can’t get the car to do it now....

Did it have any sort of software update when it was in with the dealer, are you in the correct mode with sports and sports +

I didn’t have it in at the main dealer. Just took it to a local powder coating company. I drive around in sport mode most of the time.

I wondered that too as I had filled her with shell v power just before I put the car in to get wheels fixed. Normally I run around in regular unleaded. I have since filled up with regular again and 150 Miles in and still no change.

Aye a change in ambient temp will have some effect on the pops and bangs. A fuel switch will also have influence however a single tank full of V won’t necessarily have been enough to fully flush and therefore have ‘changed’ the car. Without a software update I reckon it’ll be a combo of warmer weather and placebo effect.
