On a couple of occasions, when I've been driving in moderate to heavy rain, with the wipers on, I've felt a slight retardation for a second or two, as if the brakes have been very lightly applied. I wonder if this is the active brake drying function of DSC+ being a touch too heavy on the brakes. Have you felt anything similar?
Also, no, it wasn't a puddle!

Re: Brake drying - can you feel it?
I don't think the F20/1's have this function - yet.
I certainly haven't felt it on my M135i and the brakes can be a bit wooden when raining on the motorway!! I've looked through various documentation too and can't find a mention of it anywhere, I believe on the E90's etc.. another feature was a smooth stop function, where you kept steady pressure on the brake pedal when coming to a stop and the DSC/ABS unit would 'ease off' the brakes as the car came to a halt, thus improving the passenger comfort, my car hasn't got this either (not that I need it!!)

Page 38 of the brochure here - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/88435581/F20_01_2012.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - says it does have it.
I thought it had the smooth stop thing too, but it's not mentioned in that brochure.
Have to admit that the DSC impressed me in the snow, when I could feel it tweaking the brakes to minimise yaw.

It doesn't work as well as VW's system, I certainly notice a loss in braking performance after a long wet motor spell in the f20. Never noticed this on the Passat.

Re: Brake drying - can you feel it?
So how is it activated??
Rain sensor on windscreen?
Wipers on high speed?
How often are the brakes applied?

I'm don't know, but I'd guess that it's when the wipers are on.M135iFUN wrote:How does it work....how does it known when they are wet?
