Don't know if it's the same on the 1 series but the pad warning light did deactivate the cruise control! It's because the cruise control uses the brakes when going down a hill, so must not want to use them at that point and it's also a reminder to get them sorted (if they hadn't already been) Thoug...

Mini Countryman pad warning.

The wife had her discs and pads changed all round a month back while up in Leeds, (200 miles from home) and yesterday she told me the rear pads warning light has come on. Took a look today and it's at -20 and won't reset. The front counter has been reset. I'm guessing the sensor hasn't been replaced...
