Re: E87 Exhaust Flexi Diameter

Just thought I would post a quick reply - i removed the DPF today ready to weld the new flexi in. I will probably cut the angle tube off this one and buy a 2 1/4 dia 5 long piece then re fit the DPF and tack the flexi in place as the angle will need to be correct. Then remove and weld it up. If you ...

Re: E87 Exhaust Flexi Diameter

Thanks for the picture, i know what you mean there isnt much room if you dont have ramps! I am in the north east so a bit too far away! I will try and get under tonight and see if i can at least get part of the exhaust removed then get under the bonnet. Hopefully its not too bad of a job but may be ...

Re: E87 Exhaust Flexi Diameter

Hi, sorry mine is also a diesel - its the N47 i believe. That was the issue i found, there is so many different options online. Also i didnt realise the pipe at the cat was so short. Maybe the longer flexi pieces are for a decat? I wonder how easy the cat can be removed, then i could weld it to the ...

E87 Exhaust Flexi Diameter

Hi just wondering if anyone knows the exhaust diameter at either end of the flexi piece its a 2009 E87- there is a few different sizes online. Im looking for a one that clamps at both ends rather than having to weld it. They look to be around the £30 mark. Is this resonable, or would i be better get...

Seat Repair

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has successfully repaired the pleather seats on their 1 series? Mine has began to split in several places and not sure on the best course of action for repair. I see several DIY kits but i think a specialist might be better? Im located in North East if there is any sugge...

Re: Dash Resetting - Possible IBS Issue?

Uptade: I've gave it a week with the IBS unplugged and has been fine through the cold (down to -2 ish) all week, then reset again yesterday after i stopped for 10 mins. Marco - the corrosion wasnt on the ibs it was on the 2 bolts that fasten to the body behind the negative terminal so i didnt bother...

Re: Dash Resetting - Possible IBS Issue?

Thats pretty much exactly what mine does! I dont really want to fork out for a new battery if it isnt the problem. Mind, if i do need a battery i have seen https://advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/product/advanced-xd-096-agm-battery-stop-start-technology-2/?gclid=CjwKCAiAr_TQBRB5EiwAC_QCq7IQn6sKcPaqz_d...

Re: Dash Resetting - Possible IBS Issue?

I'll get some pics of the corrosion, I thought given this has reset easily 100 times then its probably someting else and disconnecting the ibs might help to identify if that was the cause. It actually reset after the battery had a full charge on the charger, another reason i thought it was due to so...

Dash Resetting - Possible IBS Issue?

Hi, Ive had a few problems with my 118D E87 resetting the dash when it is cold, first I assumed it was the battery, however, putting it on a smart charger indicated no faults and it held a full charge. When I looked in the boot, the connections are quite badly corroded - is it possible the IBS is fa...

Re: E87 pops out of first gear

I've taken a look on real oem and it looks like the one i need is either BGO, TCBB or TAI3 for stop start box, however, the non stop start box can be had for significantly less! It looks like I could fit that with a transmission bearing set (which just looks like some mountings on the diagram. In ad...

Re: E87 pops out of first gear

 Just been looking on ebay prior to dropping in the garage on monday - it looks like theyre several variants of the GS6-17-DG box - some list another 4 letters after DG, i.e. DC-TCTB i cant fathom out what the last 4 letters are for? Ebay suggests some arent compatible? Theres a significant...

Re: E87 pops out of first gear

Looks like about 500-600 plus fitting then! Bit dissapointing from a car with under 60k on it
