Just wondering what everyone normally see's as oil temp on track days?

Also what everyone's peak temps that they would stop at?

Another thing is how does everyone keep an eye on coolant temps while on track?

Just want to know what to expect when I go on track which I should hopefully doing quite abit!

Oil temp is a bad evil on a n54. I hate seeing mine up in 120 on the road and I've touched 130 on the track,

I also have the BMS oil stat bypass but when the temps up it's up, it really takes some cooling.

I'm gonna start looking into aftermarket kits

Think the highest I've seen on road is 110C, however haven't really driven it hard got a prolonged period!

Iirc the JB4 has a coolant temp hijack? Could always hijack that on the fuel level or even on the oil and once in a while lower the revs to check the oil temps and run the boost pressure on the fuel? Not sure if I'm dreaming there though?

Well ordered a intercooler yest so rob I'm hope your right aha

I want An oil cooler)
My oil temps both in road use and on track didn't drop after fitting the Forge I/C.

And yes, I'm still contemplating either the Dinan or Evoluton Raceworks oil cooler kits.

It's a n54, didn't think they did n54 with DCT?

Tbf I would had a DCT if you could get one in n54 and there wasn't a manual to buy (I'm quite impatient)

I've only done one once and that was for a Quaife for my old 106. I'm never in the right place and right time and all that!!

Went to BMW today and ordered about 20 different part numbers! Guy wasn't particularly impressed! Think he shares my impatience lol

I've seen 130 deg on my on track but it was a hot summers days as well, with temp around 90F.

120-125 was the temp on track on a more normal summer day. I always do a cooling down half lap and drive around the paddock slowly and then get the bonnet up ASAP once stopped to let the hot air escape from under bonnet.

the 1m has 2 but i cant recall if i had the second one fitted ill have to look!
No, as I've said before.....the 1M does NOT have 2 oil coolers.

The oil cooler in the 1M is identical to the one in the 135i, same part number.
Sorry I forgot master geeram;)

Oil cooler on passenger side, auxilliary radiator (engine coolant) on drivers side. Same as provided on Z4 35is, 335is and as part of factory "performance power kit."

have you not got a intercooler dom? does the meth not help?
Yeah I have a forge cooler but the meth I mainly use for octane boost as my percentage of meth is greater than water,

An larger more efficient aftermarket item needs to be purchased.

A intercooler is for denser and colder air not oil so no way your oil will be cooler with a bigger intercooler I'm afraid
