New exhaust for M135i

Post by Braeburn2010 »

So currently looking into the option of changing my stock Exhaust for something different. Any ideas or recommendations would be much appreciated or am I wasting my money and leave it stock.

I was driving another car today behind the wife in the M135i with Remus.

I had no idea it sounded that good to the outside world, very deep!! I the cabin it’s so isolated, was genuinely impressed.

That's the dilemma, it's what it sounds like from the inside that's just as important, to you the driver? After all perhaps one in every 100 people you pass will be a car enthusiast so might be impressed, the rest will think that you're a noisy bar steward and, if they recognise it as a BMW, make jokes about indicators being optional.😀

When did you get your car? Videos of exhausts are a little misleading online, cars after a set date seem to be alot quieter and no pops which I think was a software update, so for me personally what's the gain in spending over 1200 quid on an exhaust

£1200 is purely to annoy your neighbours, it's basically the same volume inside the car. Get it loud enough and they'll key the sides for you.

Before I fitted a Milltek exhaust to a 10 month Audi S5 I got Audi to confirm in writing that doing so wouldn't affect any part of the remaining warranty, believe you me it took some doing but I got it. I wouldn't advise anybody fit an aftermarket exhaust to any car still covered by the manufacturers warranty without doing the same. If you experience any engine problems during the warranty you'll have a hells own job trying to claim on the warranty because they'll use anything to get out of it without that letter....

Just disappointed my m135i dosent sound anywhere near as good as the demo. The demo sounded amazing but I see changing the exhaust is a waste of money

Not sure if the PCW mod improves it! He does a great job with everything else.

I can assure you that the video there doesn't do it justice. It's much better in person but still lacking. A 2019 build would take to a PCW mod much better imo. Would be interesting to hear PCW compared to Remus on a 2020 build though.
