Where did you get the part number? I don't see it visibly on the part (without removal from the vehicle)

I can only find: 7069449 for the fuel pot/hinge

Yes, you need a whole new fuel pot/hinge assembly.

Or is there a different part you're after??

Thanks to everyone that took the time to post experiences, suggestions pictures and videos in this thread, I've just completed this today.

Took me about 30 mins at a casual pace, I used the drill method and did it all from the outside. Getting it out, even with the clips smashed still took a significant effort. The most time consuming part for me was getting the locking pin guide locked back into place!

The lid now closes with alarming ferocity!

£38.99 delivered from Cotswold, but they're closed due to the lockdown. You might be able to get one from shop.bmw.co.uk but it'll be at full retail plus delivery, whatever that works out to!

This is on my list to sort out over the coming weeks. I’ll get the parts ordered.

Use the drill method. Makes it a 5min job with zero prep required!

Yeah looks a bit easier; power tool and brute force!

Need to clean out the washer jets out too; not looking forward to that.

Why not? Just use a sewing needle, poke it in, wiggle it about, aim the jets how you want with the needle, done for another 12 months.

I’m thinking it’s the filter. The car was bought from my parents in law who would literally chuck and old screen wash in despite paying to have the filters cleaned out on more than one occasion. They work, but the jet is really weak and more ends up on the bonnet than windscreen.
