Thanks for this guide Sonic, just used you guide to fit 'Dan116i's short shift kit.

Took me a good half an hour or so, even with your instructions!

If anyone else is following this, I'd suggest turning the white plastic socket-cup 90 degrees clockwise, it pops up nicely then. Before you start, check out the tabs on the new socket-cup supplied in the kit, and the two long slots either side of the metal outer ring. You can just see the slots in Sonic's pic, the light is bouncing nicely off the right hand one.

im having problems with the bit that you posted marco,

the white plastic socket seems to be sealed in rubber :?

in the first pic, under the black band is a rubber housing . is this normal?

Yup, that all looks normal.

First remove the weight/damper on the shaft, by squeezing both ends of the spring clip together. This will need to be transfered over to the new stick later.

Once off, remove the rubber weather gaitor. :)

after rotating the ball socket it has popped up a little bit but is it suppose to completely come out or am i suppose to pull on it ???

Have you released the circlip and slid the selector rod off? Some people find this stage easier from under the car.

Iv not released the circlip bcos i cannot access it from in the car

Damm il have to jack the car up now & get underneath it !
