440-480bhp stage 2???

Post by bimmerdreamer »

Hey guys, i currently have the BMW m135 lci, running on a stage 1 remap.

I've spoken to the guys at MSL, they reckon from just a sports cat+ panel filter i would be running at 440bhp stage 2 map.
If they upgrade the intercooler, should be around 480bhp.
Give or take -10bhp.

I've heard from another company called more bhp (where i had my stage 1 map) the fuel pumps need upgrading on these cars after 425bhp. ,

So basically should i be expecting my car after a stage 2 from MSL to be running around those figures without additional upgrades?

Just seems quite high to me with 2 to 3 upgrades with a map...

Many thanks to any replies :)

I can't see that at all. With all that (sports cat, panel and intercooler) plus a remap to suit, I'd be really pleased with anywhere near 420ish.

I think to get much over 400hp on the N55 you needed to fit hybrid turbos? Sounds like MSL are talking rubbish to me

MSL must’ve misquoted you or are talking BS, 480bhp is just unheard of for an N55 with those bolt-ons.

an m2 (same base engine) with those parts will get to about 420hp including a map.

After that you need fuel pump and bigger turbos

Fuel pump is the restriction here. You will need to upgrade the N55 pump to achieve more power.

A m135i ewg will see on a honest dyno using good fuel 99 octane or more

Just a remap on a standard car 375bhp

Remap With sports cat 410-415bhp

Remap With Decat 410-420bhp

A intercooler will not add any more Bhp but will keep the top end power Bhp for longer full accelerations runs over a standard intercooler if there is enough air flow and the out side temp is cooler

Many of the uk dynos are set to read 15-20bhp more than they should
Some will read even more

Op,

Ref Jason @ BW's comments above - concur 100% esp as Jason and his team fettled my car several times on their dyno to tweak my JB4 custom map 6 as I added more upgraded hardware...

my car sport DP - https://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=91979

Matt B's car decat DP custom map on JB4 - https://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?p ... 4#p1254314

MSL are maybe confusing n55 with B58 or talking up their remaps, if so avoid would be my advice.

If you are near to BW Chiptune, get yr car setup by these guys. From 1st hand experience, they know what they're doing and have a great rep based on the work they've done and still do.
