Wales or the Dales?

Post by Simon Site Manager »

I'm planning a run-out today, Snowdonia or God's own country. Erring on Snowdonia.

Think I'll go here.....

Not because it's creepy just that it's out of the way. Not sure how close I'll get by road.

Don't get dragged in. That's a local lake for local people.

If your heading to Snowdonia down the A55 good luck it's become a giant car park.

Don't think I drove through Royston Vasey?????? Sat Nav got me to a place near Rowan. My ears were popping due to the increase in altitude. The nice people from National Grid had laid a stone road so I walked that for about 4m, checked Google maps and the lake looked about another 4 miles on over the top of a mountain, no way was I going off piste without proper prep. So I will have to do a bit more planning .

Traffic was horrendous today, all us furloughers out for jaunts......and it wasn't even sunny when I got there.

It was nice to stroll around and not see any people!

I tried heading into north wales to see my mum but gave up, I've never seen the traffic that bad before.

It took me four hours to get there; 90 miles and an hour and a half to get home.

If there's ever a drive out into north Wales please let me know.
I took my classic Golf out so I especially didn't enjoy the experience, no aircon and just waiting for it to over heat.
