M2/M3 Cold Start

Post by HN1989x » Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:00 am

I've been driving an M3 for the last couple of days as my car is in the bodyshop and couldn't help but notice how rubbish the car sounds compared to the M2. Is it just me? Is there something wrong with this car or do all M3's sound like this?

Also, doesn't matter which mode i'm in (Comfort, Sport or Sport Plus), there are no crackles or burbles from the exhaust! Childish, I know but this is something I really enjoy in my M2

M3 sounds better in Sport/Sport Plus when it comes to starting/general driving.

I got more crackles out of the 440i loaner in terms of standing revs. You'll get the normal farting/crackles when you change gear in the M3.

That's the future with the m2 comp!!

So glad i got an M2 as that's what sold me the car. Childish and sad, yes, but it keeps me happy :D :D
If it's got breasts or wheels - it's going to give you trouble

Unfortunately, changing a gear made little to no difference. I have to really give it some beans! In my car, it's constant in sport. :?

Yes, you have to give it some, change around 5-5.5k rpm then it'll make some noise.
