Hi guys!

This is my first post on the forum, but for the last year and a half, I have enjoyed many of the how-to's and followed lots of all the user posts wih great interest!

I'm sorry in advance, if this subject is old, but my search results haven't been succesful yet.

Does any of you have any experience with replacing the bulb for the parking lights in the headlights?

I tried to have a look this evening, but didn't seem to find the trick. It seems pretty straight forward to acces the bulb, but to get it out of the headlight is causing me some trouble!

I'm the happy owner of a 2005 BMW 118d (E87), and would like to replace the original bulb, with a LED replacement or just a new original bulb (the one in the left headlight is broken).

Kind regards from the snowy roads in Denmark

These are pictures of the back of the headlight on the right side of the car (as you look forward towards the bonnet, not right from the drivers position)

The parking light bulb is the little black one just above the h7 bulb its much easier to change compared to the sidelight bulb or main beam bulb!

It's fiddly work getting your hands back there especially if you have big fingers some swearing normally helps :lol2:
Indeed it is - and the swearing helped a lot :)

I was able to get the broken bulb free, but havn't replaced it yet (going to buy new ones tomorrow, the dealership thought it was a great idea to stay closed on a sunday).

I will take some pictures as well, and post them when the job is done (and I am done swearing!) :)

Talk about taking the long way round :lol2:

Why didn't you have a new bulb handy. They are a standard W5W, even a filling station would have them they are so common.
Didn't do my research before I started fiddling, sometimes I just learn by f***ing up (fooling around), and since I havn't changed this type of bulb before, I didn't know the standard for this - but I do now, so I learned something - great succes! :)

I just ordered som LED's from eBay, a guy on another forum runs with them, and they look great, but until they arrive from the UK, I will settle with some standards.
